I’m very excited about my DON’T PANIC GUIDE TO BIRTH, because I think it will help.
A midwife for twenty five years, I’ve always been passionate about sharing the insights I’ve gained about birth with women and their families.
When a mother-to-be walks into an antenatal class she has some questions she wants to ask first. One of them is “How will I know if I’m in labour?”and there’s heaps of answers after that. This book starts there. If you want an easy to read, last minute guide to those burning questions, I can’t wait to share.
wishing you a wonderful birth

I had a beautiful letter from one of our hospital emergency doctors who has left while his wife has their baby. I’d love to share it with you…
To Fiona
Thank you very much for the Don’t Panic Guide To Birth. It’s great!
I’d like to say I read it without putting it down, but I didn’t. The passages on the newborn girl nuzzling her mother got me quite misty eyed: must be the air conditioning here.
It’s so lovely to read of the joy of childbirth, and for a normal part of life to be presented so positively. I will heartily recommend your fabulous book.
Sandra loves your book, and found it a welcome breath of fresh air after struggling through the usual ‘big fat’ pregnancy books.
Thank you
Dean

And my first Review.

Gentle Readers,
It’s a buyer’s market out there this month – especially if you like paranormals and historicals . Both sub-genres have bumper crops of top picks out this month for your reading pleasure.
This month, I’ve been focusing on a more specific area of reading for my own research – all the pregnancy books I can get my hands on. Our first child is due at the beginning of November. So what does a romance reader read when planning for her own epilogue? My favourite book – and the one both my husband and I have found the most useful and the least scary (and that’s a big deal!) – is this one from Australian midwife and Harlequin Medical Author Fiona McArthur. The Don’t Panic Guide to Birth is fantastic – written in short, 5-minute chapters with all the information and none of the judgement. It’s been a great asset in my house, and I’d recommend it for anyone looking at their own epilogue, or as a useful gift for showers.
Until next month, happy reading!
Kate Cuthbert, (new mum)
Congratulations on your new baby, Kate!!!!!!!!! Fionaxxxxx

Not known for steamy love scenes I had a load of fun with my first ficticious sheikhdom, the principality of Zandorro, and of course my gorgeous sheikh, Zafar. I’m still not known for steamy love scenes ![]()
but Zafar has never met a woman like Carmen and he’s not quite sure he understands her. Or the way this midwife expects her ladies to be treated.
Lovely review on millsandboon.co.uk site, “Mrs McArthur further expands her horizons and successfully branches into “sheikh” territory in this highly enjoyable and well-paced story using her first hand knowledge of midwifery to good effect.
I would perhaps have liked a slightly larger proportion of medical content but it still hits the spot.
10 out of 10″
Gotta be happy with that.
FALLING FOR THE SHEIKH SHE SHOULDN’T comes out in March 2012 in the UK, and April in Aus and North America. Available in print and ebook.
